The monotypes are developed with the Carborundum technique. This process consists of drawing motifs with the carborundum mineral mixed with different glue on an aluminium plate.

Several plates are necessary; one for each colour and design. The paper is

handmade in a french mill.

The thickness of the paper (up to 7 mm) allows me to work in the texture to get

embossing impressions.I work mainly

on older presses. One is none other than a machine coming from the “Mourlot”

atelier on which many artists

including Picasso, Braque, Matisse to name a few, have made their engravings. I produce the monotypes

at the studio and publishing house of "Jacques Berville" in Arpaillargues in the Gard.
